Our Veterinary Staff
Meet the staff of Clover Vet! Our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and office staff are committed to giving you and your pet the best experience possible every time you visit our clinic.
Dr. Gretchen Love Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Love lives in Lake Wylie, SC. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and received her veterinary degree from Tuskegee University in 2000. She has 2 children, Mary Morgan and J (short for James IV). She married Billy Bolin in June 2013 and has 2 stepdaughters, Kendall and Erin. She has a dog named Breeze who comes to work with her every day. She is a huge Gamecock fan along with the entire staff (coincidence and not a job requirement!). She enjoys traveling, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, and almost any activity that involves the outdoors. She is known for her energy and long-winded conversations with the clients and staff. Sometimes we have to drag her out of the rooms!
Dr. Ashley Funderburk
Dr. Ashley Funderburk lives in Lancaster, SC. She received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Animal Science and her veterinary degree from Tuskegee University in 2015. She loves dachshunds! She has one old lady dachshund named Ethel and another one named Baxter, a rat terrier/cocker spaniel mix named Roscoe, and a cat named Margo. She is a huge Clemson fan (Go Tigers!). In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts and spending time with her friends and family. She is excited to join this amazing team!
Receptionist & Office Manager
Trudy lives in York, SC. She has been working with Dr. Love since opening our doors in 2008. She fits right in with her bubbly personality and her enthusiasm for Gamecock football. She has been married to Steve for over 36 years. She has two sons, Luke and Dustin, and 2 daughters-in-law named Mandy and Kera. She has been blessed with 4 grandkids. She loves to play golf in her spare time. She has 4 dogs, Sadie, Chloe, Captain, and Olina. She is our head receptionist and handles all our office management. She is known for knowing everyone (or treats everyone like she has known them for years!). Clients can always recognize her by her contagious laugh.
Anne lives in Gastonia, NC. and joined our clinic in 2012. Anne is married to her husband, Louis and has 2 grown daughters. She has a rather large canine family as well that includes a one-eyed pit bull named Brad-Pit, 3 chihuahuas – Lola, Baby and Teenie-Weenie, a rat terrier named Kita, a jack russell mix named Spice, a mini-pin mix named Jenny, a yorkie/chihuahua mix named Polly and two feline buddies named Black Kitty and Boy Kitty. Anne is a rabid Carolina Panther and Auburn fan (WAR EAGLE!). She has a kind, caring, and bubbly personality and she fits right in with all of us.
Hi, my name is Ashley. I am grateful to now be a team member as a vet tech at clover vet and having been caring for animals for 10+ years. I love my human family (my daughter Blair and my boyfriend Chad) and all of our furry family. At our home we have a dog named Benny Jo, our kitties Della Meow, L.C. and her 3 little babies that came in her belly when we rescued her, Sally Duck, Merrie and Tina Turtle, Leroy the fish, and 2 little crabbies… With all of those bodies there is never a dull moment.. But I love every minute of all of it though 🙂
I joined the team here at Clover Vet in January 2016. I have worked as a tech for many years and thoroughly enjoy it. I live in York, SC with my Husband Jonathan of 11 years and our two sons Cole & Evan. We have 3 dogs Madison, Buddy, and Kirby. I enjoy spending time on the lake fishing and watching my boys play sports. And of course GO GAMECOCKS!!
I have lived in Chester, SC my whole life. I have been a veterinary technician since 2008. Since I was a child I knew I wanted to make my career in the veterinary field. My passion is taking care of animals and continue to keep them healthy. I’m currently enrolled at Penn Foster to become a licensed veterinary technician. I have been apart of the Clover Vet family since August 2016. I am so excited to be apart of such a great, caring team.
Kristy came on board in August 2017. She had over 15 years of experience, so we scooped her up as quick as possible. Her technical skills and knowledge quickly made her a valuable asset to this hospital. She has played many different roles in other hospitals; surgery tech, exam tech, large animal tech and receptionist – all in the same day! If something needs to be done, Kristy never hesitates to do it. She has a special way with pets, and they always seem to love her. Kristy is happily married to Marion Peterson and has 2 children, Bayleigh and Grayson. Her four-legged children are her dogs- Dock, Nova, Judge, Piglet and Zailey – and her horses – Twist, Mack and her cat – Spooky Bird, and her birds: LaylaBird and Afroduck. She enjoys spending time with her children, watching them play baseball, horseback riding, and anything outdoors.
Meet breeze, our hospital mascot! 5 years ago, a man walked into our clinic, put down 2 lab puppies and walked out. Dr. love had been looking for a dog for quite a while and knew immediately that her search had ended. Breeze went home with Dr. love and her brother lives with Dr. love’s niece and nephew. Breeze has the sweetest disposition and loves everyone, human and animal alike! She has comforted sick and recovering pets after surgery and procedures and has been known to sneak up front to say “hello” to everyone in our waiting area.
